The Dairy Company is proud to be one of the most successful companies in the country that provide milk-based products to Australian customers as well as oversea. As we look at the future of the company, it is necessary to restructure the company body frame, strengthen employer-employee relation, the main endowment factor of our company. It is important to come to the satisfactory agreement that could benefit both parties. Dairy Company Goals: 1. The agreement upon the appreciation in salary is to be indicated during the life of the agreement. 2. Training module to be provided to employees 3. Develop an efficient hours roster 4. Maximize the duration of the agreement 5. Consultative Committee structure and confidential information Dairy Company Strategies Daily Dairy is very well aware of the important of employees, the undeniable part which largely contribute to companyââ¬â¢s benefit. The company feels that it must develop a solid agreement to benefit every single contributor, but it also wishes to remain flexible and open to new changes and to the variation of demanding market. An integrative agreement is much needed. â⬠Most negotiators would prefer to be involved in the more integrative approach to bargaining, which is a good choice as the research generally suggests that the integrative approach yields better resultsâ⬠(Walton and McKersiesââ¬â¢s 1965) 1. The agreement upon the appreciation in salary is to be indicated during the life of the agreement. As the recession coming up, the prediction of 10 to 20% of employees will be cut down to reduce expenses and raise a significant amount to capital. A part of the surplus amount e contributed to the capital will be added to the current salary. The purpose of this appreciation is to enhance the life standard of each individual, furthermoreà improve the productivity of employees and production line of Daily Dairy in general. The appreciated proportion will be determined by the proved contribution towards improved productivity of each individual performance. The total amount increase benefiting employees is predicted to be 5% rising from 65%-35% between company and workers to 60%-40%. As the disappointing productivity in recently month, employment diminishing is inevitable but to encourage these employees by adding more shared benefit, we believe it could improve the general production line. We believe that the agreeable rates can be determined by reasonable flexibility from both sides and are prepared to offer several concessions of our own. Fell stated in his Clear-cut compromise strategy that ââ¬Å"the split different between what you and other party want, so both get something, and neither of you gets all that you wantedâ⬠. (Fells,R.E 2012). 2. Training module to be provided to employees Training opportunities are already given for potential employees. The quantity can go up or down depend on the availability of vacancies. However, we agree to give more training opportunities to employees for contingency problems, and upcoming expansion. As we have stated above, the salary appreciation is counted based on individual performance. Workers will be paid upon the contribution of their work, not for the skills they hold. 3. Develop an efficient hourââ¬â¢s roster We believe that in order to achieve productivity, efficiency rosters are much needed for each individual. A pattern has been build up to achieve efficiency from both company and employees. In this pattern, both parties specify their requirements, limitations and thus come to an agreeable terms. For this instance, Daily Dairy required each employee to fulfill 38 hours per week with an optional of working overtime. Alternatively, employees can state their preferred working time, number of overtime hours. Agree to these terms, Daily Dairy will make sure providing the best possible roster to each individual, and employees are obligate to fulfill what has been agreed upon. In return, we need employee to be flexible to new roster in the time of increased demand; seven day notice will be given to any changes in roster. By optimal the employee rosters in ordinary business day, we satisfied their needs thus we can expected improved in productivity. Furthermore, in the time of need, we also can expect the same productivity from employee regarding the changes in roster. Itââ¬â¢s the win-win situation that Daily Dairy wants to achieve. ââ¬Å"the win-win situations exist where some value are created that did not exist, or seem to exist when the parties first started negotiatingâ⬠.(Fells,R.E 2012). 4. The duration of the agreement The longer the duration of the agreement the better off for our company. At first, Daily Dairy can avoid dissipating both human and money resources on these repeatable problems and focus on more pressing matter. Secondly, with a predictable fixed in labor cost, we can achieve more stability and further benefit toward company, money in general. In short-run, wages could not reflect the price-level change (inflation rate), so worker are actually work under wages. In short, while the labor expenses are fixed, our profit is variant, the different will benefit us in the long run. We want to achieves 4 years agreement. Thus we should make the initial offer and it should be higher than 4 years. ââ¬Å"A first offer tends to become an anchor for the negotiations, so going first has aan advantage ( Galinsky & Mussweiler 2001; Magee, Galinsky & Gruendeld 2007) 5. Committee structure and confidential information Employees are the main skeleton which structures the appearance of company. With this in mind, we want to build a most effective joint workplace committee that enables the possibility to have a mutual understanding between company and workers. With a consultative role, committees can provide management with worker viewpoint before decisions about the workplace are made. Recognizing that the current industry is very competitive and maintaining secrecy about Daily Dairyââ¬â¢s strategic information is the most important, confidentiality information must be kept safe from outside world which includes committee. ââ¬Å"The trust required in these specific situations is separate from whether the other negotiators are inherently trust worthyâ⬠(Fells,R.E 2012). The benefit returns is not worth the risk. Conclusion We have showed our reciprocity in some matter and also in some we stand a firm ground but after all, we believe that these concessions show our good faith and will enhance a mutually beneficial relationship between our company and employees. US Economy & Outsourcing essays The United States Economy and Outsourcing Outsourcing is an agreement to have work done for a company by people not employed by that particular company. Outsourcing is a trend in corporations that is especially found today in the information technology field. In certain businesses, the whole information management of a company is outsourced. Outsourcing varies from large contract, large companies doing work for small companies and vice verse, to small contract, hiring substitute workers. Outsourcing does not necessarily take place internationally; it can be a domestic matter, although my topic deals with sending jobs overseas. The reason outsourcing has expanded these past few years is because it helps the economy in the long run. It prevents high labor costs in businesses, which allows companies to make more profit and create more jobs. Yet there is much debate over sending jobs to low-wage nations such as China, Romania and especially India. Many employees in the United States have lost their jobs to workers in these foreign countries. These unemployed Americans are asserting that outsourcing is only assisting the large corporations, but not helping the economy. They are arguing that it gives more money to the management at the top and dismissing workers at the bottom. What the jobless are missing is the big picture in the U.S. market. Companies are able to save a minimum of twenty to thirty percent through outsourcing. The money conserved is put back into jobs, stock dividends and profit sharing. Outsourcing does not automatically succeed in every situation. Some Dell customers have complained about la nguage barriers and delays for certain call centers. Delays are inevitable and likewise found for American help services. Language difficulties, on the other hand, can be a major issue. Example: Dont vote for her to head the committee. Shes too lackadaisical to get anything done. Some people use lackadaisical as a synonym for lazy, but thats not quite what the word means. This headline indicates the difference: FCC: Lazy Or Just Lackadaisical? Lazy implies the deliberate avoidance of work in order to spare oneself effort. Lackadaisical implies lack of purpose. The lazy person has a purpose. The lackadaisical person is content to let things happen. The adjective lackadaisical derives ultimately from the word lack in the Middle English sense of loss, failure, reproach, shame. When people were overcome by the sadness, unfairness, or futility of life, they would put the back of their hands to their foreheads and exclaim Ah, lack! Ah, lack became the word alack. Alberto Korda Essay The history of Spanish culture and their historic events have been captured through art for centuries. Photography is one form of art that has documented and symbolized historic events that are still used today as historical documents. A Cuban photographer, Alberto Diaz Gutierrez, also known as Alberto Korda, famously documented the events of the Cuban Revolution. Alberto Korda became the worldââ¬â¢s most famous Cuban photographer for his photography, documenting history of the revolution with over 55,000 revolutionary themed photographs. Korda was born in Havana Cuba in 1928. He taught himself about photography with his fatherââ¬â¢s camera, leading to capturing some of the worldââ¬â¢s most famous photographs known today. Kordaââ¬â¢s career began shooting photographs at weddings and baptisms, and selling his photoââ¬â¢s as souvenirs at the event after he developed them. In 1953 Korda opened up his own studio with photographer Luis Pierce. When the studio first opened, they were accepting any jobs that they came across from advertising to fashion jobs. Kordaââ¬â¢s style of photography was distinctive from the traditional photographers style. Korda was different from the traditional style because he disliked artificial lighting and only used natural light in his studio. Korda was quoted saying that artificial lighting was ââ¬Å"a travesty of reality.â⬠It was Kordaââ¬â¢s unique style that helped him become widely recognized in the fashion world photography. He quickly established himself as Cubaââ¬â¢s leading fashion photographer. This unique style of untraditional photography led his business to becoming more then a photography studio, but an art studio. In 1959, Korda hit a turning point in his career, the Cuban Revolution. When the Cuban Revolution began, a newspaper was created which was different from most, in which it had many more photographs than articles documenting the uprising events in Cuba. Korda was sent with a team of photographers from the paper to the United States to document the events while Fidel Castro was visiting the United States in 1959. One of the first monumental photographs taken during the visit was a photo of Castroââ¬â¢s visit to the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C, photographed by Korda. From then on, Korda became Castroââ¬â¢s personal photographer; following Castro wherever the revolution took him Korda went, traveling throughout Cuba and overseas. On an assignment after the guerrillas defeated dictator Fulgencia Batista, Korda encountered such extreme poverty that changed his life, transforming himself to become a part of the revolutionary cause. Korda said, ââ¬Å"Nearing 30, I was heading toward a frivolous life when an exceptional event transformed my life: The Cuban Revolution. It was at this time that I took this photo of a little girl, who was clutching a piece of wood for a doll. I came to understand that it was worth dedicating my work to a revolution which aimed to remove these inequalities.â⬠The photograph was named La Nina de la Muneca de Palo. One of the images that Korda captured of the leaders involved was of Fidel and Nikita Khrushchev, illustrating the differences in each of them that were obvious in their individual politics. He continued to follow the new Cuban leaders wherever the revolution took them, Korda followed. Fidel returned to Sierra Maestra, in 1959, where the attacks of Fulgencio Batista regime began. Korda would always get himself in front of the uprisings Fidel was leading in order to get the photographs he wanted. Whenever Korda was return home, he would develop the documentary images and give them to the newspaper to print. During the trip to Sierra Maestra, Korda snapped many pictures and named the series of photos ââ¬Å"Fidel Returns to Sierra.â⬠In 1960, Korda captured a worldwide symbol of revolution and rebellion, the iconic image of Che Guevara. The image was taken at a protest rally after a Belgian freighter carrying arms to Cuba was blown up by counterrevolutionaries while being unloaded in Havana harbor, killing more then 100 people. Doctor Ernesto Che Guevara joined revolutionaries to help save lives, but during a historic battle, her took up arms and came a symbolic freedom fighter. This photograph of Che Guevara captured by Alberto Korda is considered to be the most iconic image in human history. Every one of Alberto Kordaââ¬â¢s photographs of the revolution was symbols of the revolution. He wanted to help complete the goals that were thought to be what the revolution was about. He dedicated his life to Fidel Castro as an official photographer, a friend, and a personal photographer. Korda did not get paid to be Fidelââ¬â¢s photographer. Korda more recently spoke in Havana and said, ââ¬Å"Life may not have granted me a great fortune in money, but it has given me the even greater fortune of becoming a figure in the history of photography.â⬠Korda had a passion for photography, his country, and the causes of the revolution.
